In 2006, SMP Carer Recruitment was launched to address the gap between carers seeking work that met their lifestyle needs and the difficulty experienced by many aged care providers in sourcing and recruiting quality carers to meet the demands of the industry.

Understanding the challenges of the industry and consulting with over 100 care workers actively working in a care role, Bliss capitalised on this knowledge to form a solution based response to meeting the needs and wants of both carers and the industry.
Our objectives became two fold ;
- To minimise the impact, cost, time and resources required of aged care providers to recruit, allowing providers to focus on their core business of providing quality care services to their clients.
- To assist carers to maximise their employment opportunities within the industry.
Through this consultative process SMP identified the following ;
- Generalist recruitment techniques as provided by larger multi-disciplinary recruiters were not meeting the needs of the industry.
- The cost of using traditional multi disciplinary recruiters was prohibitive for many aged care providers.
